Guys, I promised data, and Data is what your going to see here...
Guys have been begging me to say who's trans file is best out of the gate, and I have refused to do so, and this is exactly why and I have proved my point. The data does not lie here guys.
I'll explain what you are seeing in these two screenshots and they are right in line with exactly how the truck was acting.
SAME EXACT TRANSMISSION TUNE - NEVER CHANGED!
The only change that was made was Changing my tune revision. I changed from my motorops 13.2 to my 13.43 file.
If for a second you believe that transmission tuning isn't affected by the ECM tune, you are 100% WRONG.
I'm not ready to disclose who's transmission file this is, and honestly it is irrelevant currently. This is the exact same ECM tuner, just different revisions. Both are Motorop ECM files.
These TCM files rely on torque modeling from the ECM. Without logs, the TCM tuner is literally throwing darts in the dark.
I picked the two closest tunes between revisions 13.2 and 13.43 to give the most accurate data that I can. I placed the data line right about the same location so you can see injection pw and shift times, however thats not exactly what we are looking at here. Ive got the same channels graphing, at the same scaling as you can see on the right, and the same zoom 5s as shown at the bottom.
What you guys are seeing here is the delivered torque the top graph set, blue line. The amount drop in delivered torque was very violent in the first one to the point I wouldn't continue logging as I was afraid it would break something.
Take notice in the second photo, tune 13.43 this is Substantially lowered. The only difference between the two is the ECM tune, from the same tuner. The TCM file is exactly the same and was never changed between these two logs.
I'm here to give facts that are indisputable. The data you are seeing here proves exactly what I felt, and exactly what I thought. This is exactly why I haven't put out any information as to who's out of the box tune works best. If the ECM is tuned, logs need to be made, especially if you choose to use a different tuner from ecm to tcm as some of you might choose to do based on the future data I will be releasing.
I can say, with revisions, all 3 tuners can fix their trans files for the ecm tuning you have. If you mix and match, log it and send it to the ecm tuner first to see what they might want to adjust before logging again and sending your new log to the tcm tuner.
There's people saying that because the ratiotek kit has been installed in my transmission that this isn't a good review of the tuning. That is 100% False. This proved that these guys can compensate for changes in not only the ecm file, but also the shift kit as well. The shift kit doesn't change their tuning styles. They're all different. One might suite Jimmy's tow pig better than Johnny that want's to race Tony on his back road at night. One driver might prefer fast shifts, while another might be concerned about transmission longevity because it's their daily driver and is strapped for money because of their $1000 a month truck loan and can't afford a transmission rebuild.
I'll release more once things are dialed in. Stay tuned
